Have you ever stopped for a second and thought about some of the sayings we use regarding our hearts and mind?
You broke my heart. That is weighing heavy on my heart. I love you with all my heart. She has a heart of stone. That topic is close to my heart. It’s not for the faint of heart. That made my heart skip a beat. He melts my heart. You nearly gave me a heart attack. I wear my heart on my sleeve. Don’t lose heart.
I mean really, we could go on and on and on. We could list just as many about the mind.
I spoke often of the heart and mind as I began this adventure here at Love, The McLeans. You were on my heart and mind. I couldn’t get the idea out of my mind. It truly was my heart’s desire. It didn’t make my heart feel heavy. My heart and mind felt free. It aligned with my heart. I’m not sure you realize how big of a part you’ve played in my life, but the Lord has used YOU to teach me so much. I recently wrote about “The Heart Behind Love, The McLeans”, and it’s a good example of the work the Lord has been doing as I paid attention to my heart and mind.
I stumbled upon some verses I pulled together a couple of years ago, and I would love to share them with you today. They focus on these two areas. I’m not sure about you, but I want to meditate on this day and night. I want to memorize and hide them in my heart. I want to have a renewed mind and I want to guard my heart. I am confident these scriptures will get us moving in that direction.
Before I drop them below, I want to say a little prayer, are you okay with that? When the idea popped into my head to do this just now, I wanted to be all, nah, that may seem a little weird, but I’m going to listen to that tug at my “heart”. Let’s pray.
Lord, many things compete for our hearts. Help us to guard this area of our body as we meditate on your Word and hide it in our hearts. For all the heavy hearts, I thank you in advance for the weight that will be lifted. Our minds really can feel like a battleground at times. Jesus thank you for renewing our minds. When anxious thoughts or worry consume us, fill us with thoughts that are lovely and pure. Thank you for giving us YOUR WORD. Bring these verses to our hearts and mind as we go about our day. We love you! Amen.
Thanks for taking a second and praying those words and believing and agreeing with me. Alright. Here are the verses for you to memorize and meditate on.
If you would like me to email the pdf in a high-resolution format so you can print them out, just let me know below and I will send it over your way. I have a feeling you are an overachiever like that!
Do you have a favorite “go-to” verse when it comes to these areas of your life? I would love for you to leave it in the comments. Think of the comments as an extra resource of verses to look through. The more the better! I can’t wait to see what you share!!!! Have fun meditating and memorizing. Let’s do this!
So needed this right now! Thank you Monique for sharing.
Well you are very welcome. 🙂
