A Quick Peek Into The LAST 20+ Years

A boy from Louisiana and a girl from Alabama move to Illinois and find one another. That's where our story began.

Hello there. I feel like we need a proper introduction. I'm Monique, and this is my hubby Jeremiah. Oh my, this picture. We were so young, embarking on the most amazing adventure. Life together. When I think back over the last 20 plus years, well, I can only describe it as, imperfectly perfect. The ups and downs, rough patches and failures, somehow adds beauty to our story. We've had a year or two where we really didn't like each other. We had a massive failure in a business and lost our home, car, and a whole lot of pride. We began to look at our relationship with the Lord as just that, a "relationship", which was a game changer. We also began a business that became wildly successful and just recently resigned from that business.

The older I get, the more I realize life is truly about Jesus, family, and loving others.

You know, the world would measure our "success" on the wins we've had over the last 20 years. How we were at rock bottom and rose to the top. Can I let you in on a little secret? We know what it's like to be content with little to nothing and we also know what it's like to be discontent with a lot. The older I get, the more I realize life is truly about Jesus, family, and loving others.

This crew right here in these pictures, oh my, they bring me great joy. Two beautiful girls, now married and raising families of their own. I'm not sure that 22 year old boy and girl in the first picture had a clue the blessings the Lord had in store for their lives. Did we realize our family would expand with the addition of two young men, and did we even comprehend the amazingness of grandchildren? Blessed. So blessed.

I can't help but sit and look at these pictures and think the same. Do we have a clue? Can we even grasp how the imperfectly perfect story could get any more imperfectly perfect? All I know is, I'm here for it, and you better believe I'm going to be faithfully recording it all along the way here at Love, The McLeans.
