Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please.
(INSERT DRAMATIC MUSIC)
I would like to introduce you to the happiest of all happy drinks….THE AMARE HAPPY JUICE.
(Insert yells of wooohooo and applause.)
Alright, in all seriousness, I believe it’s time to do a deep dive into this drink called Happy Juice. What is it and what makes it so happy? If you have ever heard of the company Amare, you probably have heard about this drink, which is a combination of three products, Edge, Energy, and Mentabiotics. It’s one of the top sellers, and after I tried it for the first time, I understood why. I get it, you are probably like, ummmm, seriously? A drink that makes you happy. Once you understand the science behind it, well, it will all make sense.
Amare is a mental wellness company, and one of the main focuses of its products is to support the gut/brain axis. If our gut biome is all messed up, having more bad bacteria, rather than good bacteria, it impacts things like dopamine, serotonin, GABA, and melatonin. Did you know the gut produces 90% of your dopamine and 70% of your serotonin? I always thought these were only made in the brain, but nope, the majority is made in the gut and then communicated to the brain. Wild, right? Let’s understand a bit more about what these bring to the table.
- Dopamine: According to the Cleveland Clinic, when you have the right amounts of dopamine, you feel happy, motivated, alert, and focused. They go on to say if you have low amounts of dopamine, you feel tired, unmotivated, and unhappy. You may also experience memory loss, mood swings, sleep problems, concentration problems, and a have a low sex drive.
- Serotonin: Let’s see what the Cleveland Clinic has to say about serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical that carries information throughout our body. A few of the ways we see serotonin impact our lives is with our mood, sleep, and digestion. Serotonin is called our “feel good” chemical. When our levels are normal, we feel more stable, happier, and have a sense of calm. Did you know we need serotonin for our body to produce melatonin? Sure enough. It’s amazing how these work together in these aspects of our lives.
Low levels of serotonin may lead to depression, anxiety, sleep problems, OCD, panic disorders, and more.
Did you know one way to naturally increase your serotonin levels is to increase the amount of sunlight you get each day? I often wondered why I felt so happy when I was at the beach. Seriously though, I love learning things like this, don’t you? Exercise also increases your serotonin levels. Ahhhhh, yes. A good walk on the beach. I think I need to get this in my life monthly. I need it for my health.
- GABA: GABA brings a calming effect to our bodies. It plays a major role in controlling anxiety, stress, and fear. It also impacts our sleep. According to the Cleveland Clinic, decreased levels of GABA are associated with several neurological and mental conditions.
- Melatonin: Have you ever heard of your circadian rhythm? One of the main things it controls is your sleep/wake cycle. Melatonin is a natural hormone that manages this cycle. It’s impacted by light. Your body produces more melatonin at night than during the day.
I’ve mentioned many times how Jer and I have been working on our sleep for the past two years. We are always looking for ways to improve this area of our lives. We make it a point to begin turning off or dimming the lights in our home around the same time each night to prepare for bed and help us wind down. We also make sure there is no light in our room when we sleep. When we travel, we are never without our favorite sleep mask. It’s amazing how much this has helped our sleep.
If our body isn’t producing enough melatonin, our circadian rhythm is messed up, which then means our sleep is messed up.
As you can see, these are vital for our mental wellness. I was blown away when I realized all those things could be impacted by the state of our gut. Now that we understand the importance of dopamine, serotonin, GABA, and melatonin, let’s look at the Amare products that are in Happy Juice and see what they bring to the table.
- Mentabiotics: Prebiotics and probiotics, that is what you will find in Mentabiotics. What’s so amazing, is the strains of probiotics used are specifically chosen to work with the gut/brain connection. The prebiotics aren’t just any old prebiotics. Nope, they are chosen specifically to work with the probiotics. Combining these sets the stage for a happy gut. You will see lower cortisol levels, enhanced calmness, less anxiety, and more serotonin, GABA, melatonin, and dopamine production.
- Energy: Good, clean, natural energy is what you get with the product that’s called just that, ENERGY. The pomegranate/lime flavor is powered by Guayusa, which is a coffee alternative found in the Amazon. Dragon Fruit is powered by Roobios, which is an antioxidant-rich source of energy. Both flavors supply that good, clean, natural energy. You must admit, it’s a happy day when you have energy. (I am a massive fan of the pomegranate/lime.)
- Edge: Mentaibiotics and Energy are amplified by this next product, Edge. It’s an all-natural nootropic that supports your motivation. The mango leaf in Edge supports immediate mental flow. The lychee fruit helps with body and mind endurance. Finally, the palm fruit assists with better neuron regeneration. Can we say crush your to-do list? Yes, please. It’s time to get motivation kicked up into high gear.
Is it all starting to click now? I get it. You hear a name like Happy Juice and you want to poke fun at it. Like yeah, right, whatever, but it legit works. I would consider myself a pretty happy individual, but I recently went through a bit of a life funk. Hey, we all have those seasons, but when I began drinking happy juice, it was like a light switch flipped and I saw a glimpse of the Monique that sparkles when she is feeling on top of her game. I want you to experience this too.
There are a couple of things I would like to highlight about each of these products before you make your first purchase and try it for yourself.
- Edge: You have two flavors to choose from with this product. Grape and watermelon. I am a massive fan of the grape, but I believe they are both pretty tasty. One of the ingredients in Edge is mango leaf. I am allergic to mango, and my daughter Alayna is highly allergic to mango. Dr. Shawn has mentioned that those with allergies to mango, are usually allergic to the protein in the fruit, not the leaf. We proceeded with caution in trying the product and we both have done just fine. If you have an allergy, I encourage you to do the same. Be cautious, but let’s just say, there is hope you can partake in this amazingness.
- Energy: There are also two flavors to choose from with this product. Dragon fruit and Pomegranate/Lime. The dragon fruit is caffeine-free and sugar-free. The Pomegranate/Lime has 55mg of caffeine and 5 grams of sugar. I am super sensitive to caffeine, and I do fine with this product. No jitters at all. They are not using a synthetic form of caffeine, but rather a natural form from matcha green tea. This gives a gradual release of caffeine, instead of a harsh spike and then drop. HUGE fan of the pomegranate/lime over here.
- Mentabiotics: When taking Mentabiotics for the first time, it’s always good to gradually increase to a full dose. Begin with ¼ a scoop the first week, ½ a scoop the second week, and keep increasing until you are using a full scoop. I use Kids Fundamentals in place of Mentabiotics. I began my journey with this product, and because I’ve had such amazing results, I simply have never switched to Mentabiotics. Don’t let that confuse you, I just want to be transparent in what I use. I am going to begin alternating the two soon and see if I notice any differences. If I do, I will let you know.
It all sounds too good to be true, right? I’m “happy” to say, it’s all legit, and I’m forever and ever in love with this little concoction. There’s a little saying around Amare, it’s all of the good stuff, and none of the bad stuff.
- No GMOs
- No preservatives
- No gluten
- No soy
- No dairy
- No fake colors
- No fake flavors
- No fake sweeteners
The bottom line, when your gut is happy, your hormones are happy and you are happy, which makes those in your home happy. It’s a win-win. SCORE.
